Larnaca - London Business Class £0.50

If you've ever paid £600+ for a round-trip economy ticket from Larnaca to London for a merely 5-hour flight then you're at the right place! Today we will see you how you can fly with British Airways (BA) in Business-Class for £0.50, yes £0.50. The reason I'm emphasising on Business-Class is neither “free food” on board nor the fancy IG posts. It's because as students and Cypriots we pack HEAVY, especially in September and June having 60Kg of luggage (mainly food) which can cost £150+ depending on the airline. So, now you are not only paying pocket change to fly but you have a baggage allowance you can barely exceed (2x32Kg + additional cabin bag), executive lounge access (valued at £25 which we will discuss next week on how to get that for £0), fast-track security and an IG post-drinking champagne at 40,000 feet where the ticket alone sells for over £1,200.

So let’s begin!

The secret sauce is frequent-flier points and in BA it’s “Avios”. Each time you fly on BA you earn Avios which can be later used for free flights, in-flight food, etc.

A flight in business-class from Larnaca or Paphos Airport to London Heathrow or London Gatwick costs 22,000 Avios + £0.50 in taxes (Avios vary depending on the season).

Economy-class will cost 12,000 avios + £0.50.

If you're not 'Avios-rich' you can still book economy which allows a 1x23Kg checked-in bag. Now the trick is I never use the aforementioned redemptions but I opt to use the least amount of Avios and pay in cash the rest which in business class will be 9,350 Avios + £65.50 or 3,400 Avios + £60.50 in economy class.

Usually, you can earn roughly 3,400 from a paid round-trip flight from Larnaca-London.

How to earn all these Avios?
