Flights are expensive, choosing a travel destination can be challenging, and getting a good deal is rare these days. However, we use a few not-so-popular tricks to get the best deal possible and potentially visit a new city using Google Flights.
Trick 1: Multiple Destinations
The most simple trick is using the multiple airports feature when booking a flight. Simply select the departure airport (LCA) and the destination CITY instead of the airport (LON - London). By using LON, the system will include the 6 London airports available and even a train station (strangely). In addition, the same trick can be used for choosing your departure airport.

Trick 2: Multiple Departures
A handy trick when trying to save especially on international business/first-class flights is using the multiple departure countries trick. In the following example, we are looking at flights from London to Bangkok. Flying from London, especially in premium cabins can be overpriced due to the high Air Passenger Duty tax, therefore we opt to fly to Stockholm which is a short flight from London, and start our long-haul flight from there. The flight from Stockholm costs €2,024 in business-class roundtrip whereas if you were to fly from London it costs €3,006, almost €1,000 in savings. Although you still need to fly to Stockholm, this costs less than €100 if you use a low-cost carrier or Avios (BA) for the 2.5 hours flight from London.
To use the feature of multiple departure countries simply use the following format for example 'LHR, ARN'. By using the abbreviation of each airport followed by a comma you can use up to 5 departure airports.

Trick 3: Multiple Countries
Sometimes you may want to travel to a destination but you are unsure where to actually go. To find the cheapest deal and the starting point of your next adventure simply select your departure(s) airport and select Europe. As shown, there is an infinite number of destinations you can fly to without breaking the bank. This feature will show you destinations all over the world if you use a desktop and navigate through the map. For €83 you can even fly from Cyprus to Iceland which includes 2 flights totaling 8.5 hours of flying! You can also fly to Stockholm for €54 and then fly to Bangkok if you fancy!
