We're usually at 40,000ft but this time we were together as we shared our experience through Instagram stories @savethetraveller, so make sure you follow us for our next adventure on Austrian Airlines!
We flew from London-Copenhagen in Scandinavian Airlines SAS Plus, equivalent to Business Class. SAS has a solid product, consistent service, and wifi onboard even for a 1-hour flight that ups their game as none of the major European carriers have wifi on short-haul European flights not to mention 15mbps.
Ground experience: Business class check-in, security fast track (you clear security in less than 5 minutes even at Heathrow on peak hour!), lounge access, priority boarding, and 2x23Kg check-in luggage.
Onboard: The super friendly crew that'll get you as many drinks as you can have, Scandinavian food, free WiFi, an empty middle seat, and a premium feel.
Insider's tip: Regardless of the airline, if you're in business class and carrying a suitcase or jacket ask the crew kindly if they can store it in the flight attendants' closet, will save time and effort!
Why do we love SAS? Earns 100% tier miles on Aegean Airlines in economy class and 200% on premium economy/business class, so a roundtrip from Copenhagen to Los Angeles in economy class will earn 12,000 miles, enough for Aegean Silver status, in one flight...
Same flight in premium economy or business class you are set for 24,000 miles adding 2 round-trip flights with Aegean to fly to the Scandinavian for the trip and you are set for Star Alliance Gold!
International flights in premium cabins are not cheap, prices start at £800 on a good day but in comparison to Lufthansa you will earn 25% miles on economy fares, SAS is a goldmine plus a weekend in Copenhagen/Helsinki is always worth it, especially if you like beer and the snow!
